Default Driver's window coming off track

Hello, I have a 2007 Equinox. My problem is the driver's side window. It comes out of the track when rolling it up. I was told by a glass shop that it was probably a broken regulator. I bought a used regulator and installed it (boy, what a job that was). It is still doing the same thing. If I hold down on the rear of the window while rolling it up it stays in the track. Kind of a pain to do this while traveling at highway speeds.

If anyone know what's going on and how to fix it I would be eternally grateful. Thanks.

Did you figure out what was causing this? I have a 2006 doing the same thing.

Cool Not yet

Apparently we're the only two people having this problem. If you find a fix please let me know. Thanks.

Not a glass mechanic, but I would suggest besides checking the overall mechanical condition of the regulator ect. is it might be out of alignment wirth the roller. Since you've had the panel off, just work it a few times to see what is actually happening with it.

Default Thanks

Yes, I figure I'll have to tear it apart and look at it again. It was such a pain in the a@$ the first time around I haven't gone back. Thanks.

Are the plastic window guides cracked? If they are, it would do that same thing

Try spraying some silicone in the tracks below the door panel edge. Maybe one side is sticking down there. (use silicone NOT WD-40)

Thanks, Skulldrinker! That seems to have done the trick...at least in the short term. I wouldn't have thought it would be that simple of a solution.

Default 05 Trailblazer window issue

Pass front window keeps getting off track. Have looked for new guides to no avail. I can get it back on track using a paint stir stick to hold the window toward the interior until it contacts the upper weather strip on the slant side. How in the Lords name do if fix this before I shoot it.

I have the same problem. I haven't gotten anyone to tear it apart yet though.
