What year is your Equinox? The first model year for the Equinox was 2005, and GM didn't start installing the 2.4L in the Equinox until the 2010 model year. Assuming you meant a 2014, you should check/clean/replace your MAP sensor located in the intake manifold next to the throttle body. It will have a three wire plug going to it.
