Question 12 Windshield Weather Stripping Coming Apart

Hey all, the windshield weather stripping has started to come off and I would like some guidance as to how to fix it or replace it if needed. I have attached a picture of it below. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Is it leaking?? If it is not leaking. I would use a good silicone seal and glue the weather stripping back on. If it is leaking I would have it replaced by a windshield shop.

Yes, glass companies stock many different kinds of window moldings. Check with a local shop to buy some, or possibly even install it for you.

Scissors.
Snip snip. It's just cosmetic trim.
weather sealing is provided by the polyurethane adhesive they use to glue the windshield on, so this should have no effect

They all do this to some degree. Hard to believe GM has never fixed that problem. Probably just cutting the corners would at least let it shrink without pulling off.

Rubber cement likely would stick it back down

Thank you all for the info, I will try to find a good adhesive/sealant if not just tear it off haha
