HELP: drivers door lock "missing" in attempted auto theft
Hi , I need HELP to secure my Van door.....the story.......
I went out to my 2005 van this morning and put my key into the "missing" key slot ( it was 5am and dark ) its GONE !
Also the door was unlocked.......GRRRRRR
I have been using my "Ghetto " anti-theft devise , a big heavy chain locked to the seat frame and then locked around the steering wheel !
So the van was still there at least.......
HOW do I replace the door lock ? Do I need to buy a complete lock with pull handle etc or just the lock parts ?
Anyone have photos on the back side of the door handle / lock area ?
Or a YouTube video ?
Thanks for your help
UPDATE- I found a you tube video where a girl takes out the whole lock......pretty poor video with no close-ups
BUT on the workbench it shows then tapping out the old lock after pushing a small tab and "pushing" it in the new door handle !
Is that all thats holding the lock in the handle ? a press fit and that small tab ? can I superglue it in or ?????
Thanks again.....
