Default Howdy- Radio Noise

Hey I just purchase a really sweet 2000 Chevy Express that has been customized. Only 2 owners and the second owner only drove it 2k miles. It has 92,000 miles on it now. The van is like new with some small things that need to be taken care of. I have one problem, the radio has static that I believe is coming from the engine. Its on all channels and its like a poping noise. I don't believe the van has every had a tune up. Could it be plug wires?
Has any one heard of this before?

sounds more like something is not hooked up right. Normal static is just a whizz with the rpm. usually only on am. check you connections and see. Maybe dirty power from somewhere.

The noise doesn't go with the rpm of the engine. So something is disconnected or something else. Radio sounds like crap. oh and now the CD player just ate my wifes CD. Couldn't get it out. Has anyone ever installed something in the single CD spot?
