Default Intermittent headlight problems

I have a 99 Chevy 1500 Express with 280000 miles on it and the headlights shut off intermittently for about 30 seconds to a minute and then come back on I replace the headlight switch 6 months ago because it felt like it was getting warm to the touch and when I pulled it out of the dash it looked like it had overheated. That seemed of fix the problem for a while but it's back to doing it more often than before I. I just pulled the switch out and it looks just fine I'm beginning to suspect it may have something to do with the turn signal switch assembly. Any and all input would be appreciated. Troubleshooting advice and or all input would be appreciated.

Unplug the bulbs and put some dielectric grease on the connections. clean the tabs with sand paper. Check the ground connections too.
