Default New Owner 2004 Express 1500 Key Question

Good afternoon all- New owner of a 2004 Express 1500 Conversion Van with 90k miles. I haven't owned a GM product in a few decades, so am unfamiliar with many of the systems. I did a quick search for existing threads, but grew impatient and thought I would ask- Thanks!

I have one working original key. I would like to obtain a second key and of course, have them both work. I have seen some online info about programing the key, but nothing that references having an existing working key, and adding another. Hoping you all can direct me to the least expensive way to accomplish this.

Thanks!!

So, is it a programmable chipped key, or not? I haven't found a definitive answer- Thanks!

Thanks. Confirmed that yesterday- Had a regular blank cut, no programming needed.
