No forward gears, but reverse works fine?
Trying to help my dad fix his work van here. It’s a 2017 Chevy Express 2500 with 67k miles on it. He said when he put it from park to drive the other day it banged around as if someone rear ended him. After that it was difficult to get it to catch in drive and within a couple days no forward gears were working, just reverse. Any answers? I’m hoping for his sake it could be something simple and not require a rebuild.

sounds like the tranny kicked the bucket.
