security light flashing not starting
Hello I have a 2006 chevy express 1500 van awd.... it is not starting because of the flashing secuirty light. i have done the 10min on 10sec off for 3 times and it does start. But i want a permanent fix so that i dont have to worry about this anymore... Is there a part i have to buy to fix this? or can i bypass it by cutting the wire? i am sure this has been asked but i need this car up and running asap as it is my only vehicle and i work construction, so this vehicle is very important.

Mine does the same thing sometimes. The 4by4 black box about even with right leg under the dash by dog house,is on mine anyways. Unplug the box turn key on but don't start for 20 or 30 seconds then try to start. Mine affects the fuel pump so if it doesn't start i push my van back and forth to help it prime. This makes mine start, but it's a rare event. If it doesn't start try and plug it in again and repeat the 30 seconds with key on before start. This is what i do when the security light prevents it from starting...
