And, I've been told, you also need to short the cables after you disconnect them. Makes sense, as any capacitors could hold a charge and not allow the reboot to do any good.

But alas, the reboot didn't do the trick. It happened twice today. Once when I put it in reverse to back in to a parking space, and once at 20ish mph, on an almost 90 degree turn. I'm thinking maybe a sensor either unplugged or intermittent in some way. Are there sensors at the wheels?

Unfortunately, there are so many different things that can trigger this message. I think a good scanner should pick up the exact condition.

Anyway, are all your tires factory size? Evenly worn? Evenly inflated?

There are speed sensors on each of the four hubs. Make sure there isn't too much buildup on them or toothed reluctor ring. I'm sure some google-fu would tell you what they should read on an ohm-meter.

Other involved gadgetry is the brake controller (under the seat on my van), lateral accelerometer and rollover sensor (mounted to floor right behind doghouse, above the transmission)

I wondered what that lump was. My little cooler likes to fall off of it.

The first year of it's life, it was a rental. I got it with 19K, so I assume the tires are original. TPMS says the pressure is within specs. Tread looks good and even. In the next week or so, I'll have the rear wheels off to swap out the shocks. Unless I see an obvious issue, I guess I'll be pulling the front as well.

By even wear, I mean same tread depth on all four. A difference of 1/4" can give conflicting speed signals.

Having/had 3 AWDs, I know about even tread wear on all 4 tires. They're all the same size/model/wear.

Maybe you have a connector loose or not making good connect.

Nothing yet. It seemed to go away for a week or so, but it came back today. I need to find some time next week to get it in to the dealer.
