Surco Van Tire Carrier
I'm new to this forum and joined because I just purchased a 2011 Express 3500 long wheelbase passenger van that I will be converting to a campervan.
I have already removed the seat rails, what a PITA but they are all out. Next I'm removing the rear AC unit, already ordered the blocking kits, just need to evacuate the AC and then install the blocking pieces.
One thing I'm looking at is installing the spare tire to the rear door, driver side. There are some very expensive ways of doing and then there's the cheaper way. I found a company that makes a mount that gets attached to the door only. This is what I'm talking about: Surco tire carrier
Has anyone here installed one of these and if so do you feel it's strong enough? does the door make more noise? vibration? any info you could provide I would appreciate.
Oh, and if you have photos I would love to see them. I'm currently going through all the pages on the "Show off your van...pictures" thread to see if I see anyone with one.
Thanks
