Tough 81 chevy van ignition/starting problems.
I'll give you guys the premise on this one:
1981 chevy van 30, w/a 350. I have experienced this problem intermittently, but now it's all of the time. I turn the ignition and get nothing, no sound, no buzzer, turn signals do not engage, etc. The lights turn on, the battery is good, the starter and all of that is good, the problem is, it's not recognizing the signal from the key, where I have replaced the lock and key, as well as the switch assembly it's housed in. I've even manually bridged it, just so insure it wasn't that mechanism. It stranded me up north for 3 days, only to miraculously work for no good reason. I've left the ignition in "on" position, and juggled with the wires, just to see if there was a hairline break in one of the wires to no avail
