I have a 2003 Chevy Cargo Van that was driving and shifting fine we didn't drive it for 3 days it's been below 10 degrees where we live started it up today put it in gear will not move forward or reverse. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Verify transmission fluid level and add. If that doesn't help, you need a new transmission. The 4L80e are plentiful around for $800-1000 and while they are generally very stout, 15 years is a long time, and they do go bad.

Fiuld is good don't smell burnt . Transmission has been rebuilt 2 times. The other two times are always warning signs of a slipping. This time it ran fine we parked it and now it won't go forward or reverse. Can't imagine it being a transmission inside

Just a side note... on a rebuilt tranny... I know from experience that sometimes
they only replace what was broken.. and if it wasnt broken at that time
then it will fail sooner than expected..
had it happen to me ... thas why I am sharing...
thankfully for me now I have a person I trust.

I am assuming the shift cable is working and not broken or become detached. When you shift to drive, does it show drive on the steering column indicator? does it shift into low or 1st or 2nd?
