As far as I know the vans never had it. Definitely not in 2006

All these answers are in the wikipedia.

excellent advise as usalle the vin decode is very nice thanks for telling me about it.

I have a new prospective express 1500rv I'm checking into. it has a ILL title so I'm kindof leary of undercarriage rust.plus the paints clearcoat has lost it's shine.
I was hoping for heated seats bc this is a yf7 upfitter which is susposed to have every option possiable or maybe I missed that part, or did gm come out w/ heated seats in 07?

also didn't see the gu80 code for a locking posie rear end in the vin decode or mite have missed that to.

yes I used to look at wiki all the time really liked how they explain the differences in year models however I believe the clowns in america have taken over wiki my setting are blocking me attached screen shot of the message I get
most of the time when I click advanced there will be a link at the bottom not anymore for wiki. I'll have to find the work around solution. thanks again for advise.

Frame rot is fairly common on these in New York. I've seen them with rust roughly below the front doors, and at the rear both ahead and behind where the frame kicks up to clear the axle.

That said I would take an IL van over a NY one.

I'd been looking for a more than a few years to obtain a mid sized gmt360 a trailblazer w/ a v8.
I took a chance on a saab on ebay, checked the car facts found out the vehicle was mainly used in upstate new york. seller claimed no rust he lied. I gave negative feedback guy had 100% positive. anyway I bought a rust bucket not though the frame but all over a-arms suspension,fuel/brake/steering lines everywhere most has been replaced. I sent ebay images and this guy still has a 100% positive.

I've been looking for a 03-06 express explorer yf7 w/ 4l60e trans for over 7 years they are extremely hard to find and now fake flu has made it worst. either I wait for the big die off or take another chance on a northern van. here's a few images of the undercarriage, I don't see the door and rear rust in the other images I have. see this is a long distance internet deal where it's to far to inspect in person.
engine cradle appears more than surface rust the frame seams fine.
thanks for advise.

That thing is rust free compared to some of the junk I've dealt with.

Even the rotted ones at auctions here were bringing well more than I thought they should. $3000 and up depending on year and miles.

the vin decode is ok. I think the brochure offers more infor. forgot the link to brochures.
I believe but can't confirm all the vans including 1500,2500 &3500 w/ the 5.3 or 6.0 came w/ a 4L80 transmission, yet gm refers to it as either a automatic, heavey duty 4spped. now I read M30.
so am I correct all vans (except4.3 v6) got 4L80 trans. same ? for yukons & suburans bc I've read the yukon got 4L60 trans so I'm confused.
the priority is to not get stuck w/ a dod afm engine.
secondary no GPS so next van will be older than 07 also no 6spped trans so no 010 model I think to be safe nothing newer than 06.
all this being said my 02 has onstar however I believe it can be dissableled easiely. I have none builtin gps sys.for navigating.
thanks

No. The 5.3's (1500) are mated to a 4L60E transmission.
The heavier duty ones have the 4L80E, 6L90E or 8L90E

It's all in the wikipedia article I linked above.

I thought this link 2003 Chevy Express - Specs (new-cars.com)
was incorrect. they claim 5.3 express's came w/ 4L80.
you are uselaly correct. do the yukon's w/ 6.0 have the 4L80? I still can't get your wiki link to work. I'll try a new search.
so is M30 a code found on the door jam lable?
do you still have the link to the express brochures?
thanks

No they don't . It looks like the 4L80 is in the same column as the 5.3L engine, but it's not. They are different tables. There is no relationship between the different tables.

it's just a normal link. No reason it shouldn't work.
Trying going to wikipedia.org and then searching for "Chevrolet Express"

It's a code on the RPO sticker. M30 = 4L60E

So .... what is the point of all this?
