Wiring diagram needed
I have a 1999 / 1500 express van with a 4.3 engine. Vin # <TABLE style="WIDTH: 108pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=144><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 108pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 5266" width=144><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 108pt; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8" height=17 width=144>1GCFG15W8X1052893</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>. I have a short that blows the main fuse when you try to start engine. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this vehicle. Has anyone else had this problem?

wiring diagram needed
I have the same problem with my 1999 cheverolet 1500 express van 5.0L. Have checked everything, been working on it for a week, and still no luck. Need my vehicle back desperately. Where can I find a wiring diagram for this vehicle?

there are diagrams in the haynes or chilton repair manuals. Try tracing the ignition and starting circuit. Also check the vehicle ground strap. Any aftermarket stuff under the dash?

From Identifix, here are a few things to check,
1. Unplug the fuel pump relay and recheck to see if the fuse blows.
2. If the fuse doesn't blow with the fuel pump relay unplugged, check for a shorted wire between the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump.
3. If the wiring to the pump is OK, check using a fused jumper power up the fuel pump. If the fused jumper blows, replace the fuel pump.
4. If the fuse still blows with the fuel pump relay removed, unplug the PCM and retest.
5. If the problem is gone with the PCM unplugged, replace the PCM.
Few more,
1. Check Oxygen sensor wiring for possible interference with exhaust components.
2. Check Pink power feed wire to Mass Air Flow Sensor, Canister Purge Solenoid, and Canister Vent Solenoid for shorting to ground.
If you want very specific wiring diagrams, I can probably get them. So for example, "engine wiring diagram" probably isn't specific enough.
