06 silverado 2500 service brake message on truck died and won't crank
Hello, I have a 2006 Chevy silverado 2500 HD single cab 4x4 with the 6.0 liter. It has 73k miles on it and today I was driving down the road and my service brake message came on along with the brake light and abs light. About 25 mins later the truck sputtered a bit and just shut off in the middle of the road, I put it in park and tried to start it and when I turned the key it did nothing just all the lights flashed and made a couple ding noises. No cranking at all. I tried a few times with the same results. I got it towed home I decided to see if it may just be a battery so I bought a brand new battery installed it and turned the key, it fired up the brake light abs light and service brake message were still on. I shut it off and when I went to re start, nothing again just the same results as earlier when I broke down. I was hoping someone may know what my problem may be? The truck shifts fine it's not stuck in park or anything. Thank you in advance

the brake and abs warning lights will not cause a no crank. they are separate issues.
do you hear the starter relay and solenoid engage when the key is turned to crank? You should hear 1 click.
if no, you need to check power out of the ignition switch to the relay.
if yes, have someone hold the key in start while you tap the starter motor. It if cranks over, the starter brushes are worn. replace the starter brushes for $15 or replace the complete starter motor.

Ok thank you for your help. I do not hear anything when I turn the key no click nothing. My fuel gauge dropped to empty when all this happened as well. It's full. I'm not sure if that matters or not in diagnosing. Thank you again I will look into that
