Default 1988 Chevy Deluxe 30 Work truck with flat bed questions.

This is My first Chevy truck. Got it for less than $1,000 from a neighbor. Im not too worried about it since it will be permanently located on my ranch but would like to get some insight on it. It came with a chevy 350 engine and im not sure on the trans as of yet. but the trans doesnt shift into 3rd gear. Im alright with swapping the trans if needed but didnt know where to start.

I bought the truck for the flat/dump bed and tommy lift. Its worth way more than what i paid for the truck in the first place.

I would assume the trans is a th350 but not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated and pointing me in any direction would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

I'd check your local Wrecking Yard for a tranny replacement.
Keep it dry inside, good fresh coolant, a Battery Maintainer, and that'll go for a long time.
