Question 1994 silverado 2wd performance

I would like to know, which gear ratio would be best for performance if I want to keep the stock transmission on my 94 silverado 2wd 5.7 liter v8. I believe it has the 4l60e transmission if I'm correct, not sure though.

Greetings Dino, welcome to the Forum.

I've been jerking on wrenches for quite a while now, and the more I learn the more I grow to trust the Engineers at GM. They put a lot of time into getting your ride right, well before they sell it to you. And, IF you intend to operate it like it was designed, that's probably the best you can expect.

Now, where you can alter things is, if you intend to use your ride for something other than how it was set up originally.

If it wasn't set up to Tow, it's probably got higher Dif Gears in it that would be optimum. If you expected to twist the engine higher than the OEM specs, possibly a Performance Chip would be in order. Over/Undersized Tires can influence the handling, so, depends on what you'd like to do with it.

Lots of Threads here, which go into specific modifications, a Site Search may be helpful to you.

Ok...

Positrack,
Chip,
Increased Air intake,
Soft tires on the Rear,
Maybe a Cam,
THEN, maybe Diff Gear change, depending on what RPM you can turn at the end of the quarter.

Do you know what would be best compatible with the 4l60e transmission; the 3.73 or 4.10 gears?

I'd stick with the 3.73 for now.
Your top end is going to be higher with them, but, it really depends on how much you do to the engine and it's control not the transmission. The 4.10 would pull stronger, but I think you're going to run out of RPM's before the end of the quarter. With a stock engine, you should count on it's low end torque.

My plans are to throw long tube headers, vortec 906 heads for better air flow, and a stall, but I'm not sure if I should get a 2500 or not sure. What would be a good converter if I want power but everyday use?
