1999 5.7L Vortec PS pump pulley out of line, belt is walking off crank
Hey guys, need some help....a customer brought a 99' Burb to me for multiple issues. One issue I found is that it has the larger alternator which means it requires the 96" belt but someone forced the 87.5" belt on the motor. I damn near had to cut it off.
Any ways, I put the new belt on, new alternator, new idler pulley which stopped all of the noise, but the belt keeps walking 1 rib off the end of the crank. The only thing off from the line up is the PS pump pulley.
I've actually never had to replace one.......but are they adjustable. There are thousands of tech docs on installs, but nothing mentions the pulley not lining up.
