Default 2000 2500 2WD 6.0 starting problem

Hi, I am new to the forum and am in desperate need of some info. I am working on a 2000 2500 6.0 Vortec 150k tranny replaced at 100k. Truck starts extremely rough if we can get it started at all and will only run maybe for a few seconds, if we get her to run and attempt to drive her runs like crap (sputtering, backfiring) and will not go over 30mph-35mph. I let a buddy of mine barrow it to move and he ran it almost completely out of gas I then filled her up to 1/2 tank. Then the problem arose. I was thinking about replacing the fuel filter but no clue as to where to search if that does not work fuel pump? Fuel press. Reg what else should I look for and is there any known related problems ? Thought I should also mention she sat over the winter as I was not pulling the camper thanks in advance

That is a good bet if it has not been replaced and you are at the mileage.
