2000 Silverado metal and cab gets HOT
Hello, I have a friend with a 2000 Silverado big block. For some strange reason when driving long distances the hole cab, doors, fenders, etc get HOT to the touch. The engine is not overheating at all...not boiling over...running at proper temp. We had the catalytic converter taken off and reamed out and put back on..thinking that it was back pressure. But there was no change. The mechanic she is taking it to says it needs new sensors since we did away with the cat. I am not so sure this is the issue. It's really strange....never in all my 40 years of driving, have I ever seen such a weird deal. Any body have any suggestions or ideas? It has me stumped...big time!!

What color is the Truck ?
What is the ambient Temperature is this occurring at ?
What Latitude is this occurring ?
Is this occurring when there is Cloud cover as well as direct Sunlight ?
Is there any difference in time of Day ?
Have you compared the suspect temperature, to another Vehicle of the same Color, in the immediate area ?
