Default 2008 Trailblazer Automatic 4WD - Missing fan relay, is this okay?

I had an issue tonight where my headlights were going in and out, and I traced the issue down to a bad relay (#46). When swapping it out, I noticed that there is an empty relay slot right next to it. When I look at the fuse panel diagram it only shows a description for #46, but nothing for the slot next to it. Yet when I consult my user manual, there is a description of the relay slot next to it (#45) and it says "Cooling Fan."

Right now I'm driving without any relay in that slot, and I'm nervous that this might be somehow bad for my car.

Can anyone explain why there is a discrepancy between the diagram on the actual fuse compartment hood, and my user manual?
