tech 2, you were right on with weak or shot encoder motor. Still can not figure out why shop could not get a code. Thanks

most fault codes diagnostics are for incorrect voltage ie short/opens or plausibility errors... The voltage diagnostic don't apply for the type of problem you had and the tccm probably doesn't run plausibility diagnostics.

what does an encoder motor sell for in the USA? They are $350 where I am.

Repair shop had one for 275. With dealer price well over 500
