4x4 question: adding 4wd low to single speed transfer case Suburban
I recently came across a good deal on a 2012 Suburban LT 4x4......only problem is it only has 4wd high. I called my local Chevy dealer and they told me GM produced some Burbans/Tahoes circa 2010-2013 with only 4wd high (single speed transfer case) so people could tow these......it is not equipped with 4wd low.
Anyways, my question is: How would one add 4wd Low to this vehicle? What would need to be done mechanically/parts? Any aftermarket bolt on adaptors? Or would I have to drop the single speed and replace it with a two speed transfer case?
I know the smartest/best thing would be to sell it and buy one with 4wd hi/lo. I am just curious to what it would entail to add 4 low......?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks!
