Default 5.7 swaps

Hey guys I need your help! I am thinking of buying a 99 Tahoe with a blown 5.7. The previous owner drove it until it pushed the rods through the bottom-end and broke the block. My question is can take the heads and intake off the 99 and put it on my 94 5.7 that I have? I have heard that I can and then others say it isn't that easy. But I haven't been able to get a straight answer. At first I was told all I had to do was swap intakes and I was golden. A crate engine really isn't in the budget right now.

I don't think I should pass up a 99 Tahoe with 147,000 with the blown 5.7 for $1000.00

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Think!.....if they drove it so hard that the engine cratered, what does the transmission look like inside....and the suspension, and the third member......get my drift here?

I know thecouple that owns the truck, the truck was not abused. His wife was the primnary driver of the truck. They werepulling a 25ft camper andwere 50 miles from home when it started making noise. He was trying to limp it home. He regrets not stopping and having it towed. The wifey said get rid of it rather than fix it. We all know who wins when the wife says get rid of it.
