5.7l vortec valve lifter replacement

1999 cadillac escalade
4wd
5.7l vortec
4-door

i am replacing the hydraulic lifters in my 1999 escalade with a 5.7l vortec. Does anyone know the step by step procedure for this as i cannot find anything specific as far as step by step guides and i do not want to skip anything vital which may cause me severe problems. I have all of the parts sitting in my house now (lifters and gaskets etc) but just wanted to double check as i am a moderately experienced mechanic as long as i have the steps in front of me.

Welcome to the forum...
might check ebay, as often times you can find the factory service manuals on DVD... these often include the specs and procedures needed to overhaul...

I have a similar DVD for my 2007 Tahoe that also covers previous models so chances are good that you will find more uses for it....
