96 Lumina 3.1 problem
I hope this isn't a repeat, as I am new here, and there are 500 Lumina posts to wade through.
Issue is I know the fuel pump is shot. I jumpered 12 volts across the fuel pump relay, it arched, didn't run, and dropped the battery voltage. All fuses are good. I replaced the ECM today, same problem as with the old ECM. I have an ambiguois voltage of 9.6-9.8 with the relay out, reading from undernjeath the relay socket with it in, nothing.
Question I have since all I have is this Haynes manual, what conditions, switches ect. have to be made to the ECM for it to generate a relay output? I am going to check the green/white at the ECM pin tomorrow with if that is all it is putting out, that is a short run. I did jumper the relay in at the battery, it works fine.

This is what I did, pasted from another forum.
YEA, it is running! I took a potentiometer set it to the key @ 4.750 k ohms, started it a few times, YEA it now runs withouth the resistor (pot).<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

What you have is an immobilizer problem. You are going to have to find the resistors that match the pellet in your key plus/minus 10% and add that into the ignition circuit.

Well, took car to sons shop. Returned the ecm (rebuit from autozone) got another one. Son replaced it, fixed the problem. it was code 1629 fuel enable signal, well the signal was there the ecm was the culprit. It now runs great with NO SEL or anything else.
