Default Alarm switching issue...

Hey everyone,
I got a Viper 5901 alarm installed in my 05 Chevy Silverado crew cab, and the only problem i have had is it keeps saying the trunk is open when i arm the alarm. I have taken it back to the installer multiple times, and it comes home fine, then it just randomly does it again. Has anyone heard of this or know maybe how to fix it?

They are not fixing it only powering it off to resewt it. I'd say the prom needs reprogrammed in the fob, or replaced to match your unit. Viper makes good stuff.

Hi Wilks,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums!

It sounds like the trunk switch on the alarm is

sticking.(a solenoid, perhaps?)

I would consider carefully checking placement and grounding of the

trunk switch, and possibly replacing the component.
