Question Big Block Build

Hey all,

I'm building a motor for my pa's 1969 Camaro and I've been using gofastmath.com to get some rough numbers of what I can expect performance wise (Max HP at what RPM, dynamic and static compression ratios) from the parts I am looking to use, and I'm seeing 826 hp at close to 6800 RPM with a 7.07:1 (6.4:1 dynamic) compression ratio, since this will be a blower motor I am fine with the compression ratios as I wont be running any more than 8 lbs of boost (brings me to around 11:1 compression ratio, the high end of safe) on pump gas, and we have some higher octane fuel if we wanna throw more boost at it. my main concern is with the rotating assembly and how safely I can run at close to 7000 RPM. Dimensions are 4.500 stroke and 4.560 bore in a tall deck world products merlin IV block, its a Callies crank (P/N CPI-BBQ42B-MG on summit for those who wanna look), CP-Carillo rods (P/N CNN-C42776535S08) and ICON 28cc dish pistons (P/N UEM-IC952KTD-060) with a comp cams magnum solid roller camshaft (P/N CCA-K11-694-8), Flo-Tek Jailbird Heads (P/N FLK-390-5060BB) and Comp Full Roller 1.7 ratio shaft mount rocker arms (P/N CCA-1520). Any and all tips and info will be greatly appreciated as I really want this motor to stay together and be as reliable as I can make it

Thanks, Matthew

Hi, Matthew. Thanks for your post. I am by no means an expert. I just restore cars. May I ask you a question? Is this a race application? Because I can't imagine using that type of engine in a street use only vehicle.
