Blend Door Actuator??

Blend Door Actuator??
I’m having a issue with no heat. The actuator (blend door actuator?) no longer makes a whirring sound when I rotate the temperature controller from hot to cold. I’ve disassemble the lower dash and removed the center panel of the dashboard, in the hope that I can find the actuator to see if it can be changed out without pulling the entire dashboard to get the HVAC unit Plenum out of the car, as one would do to access the Blend doors which apparently have given so many folks issues too.
While I have a Haynes manual, there is no detail as to the location of the blend door actuator. Can anyone provide drawings, or a repair sequence for changing out this actuator?

The car is an 2006 Malibu LT, with A/C and manual controls on the HVAC system.
