Cam, crank, distributor don't match up
1986 El Camino w/305 with 310k miles, all original. The original cam sprocket was nylon, which was cracked.
Would not crank and at TDC distributor pointedat #2. Firing order is: 1 2 7 5 6 3 4 8. Replaced timing chain and gears w/double roller. With both marks at 12 o'clock, per the manual, the distributor still points a few degrees past#2. Being out a full cyl after cam/crank at TDC hasme baffled. Any ideas would be most appreciated. <!--SEARCH--><!--POLLS--><!--FILES--><!--SIGNATURE--> |
