Default Help! No engine numbers on my 454bb

Hi, im new to the forum and in need of your help!!!

I have a 454 in my car and i dont think its the original engine. I would like to check this out but after stripping the engine down i can only find the following numbers.

1401544 casting number
11123FBK
2510
1762
GM15

Id like to find out as much as i can about this engine, like were it was made, its year of build, and what car it was built for.

There is no other numbers on the engine!!! nothing!!! i know there's supposed to be a number on the passenger side of the head on the machined area. But there is nothing here???? i think the head sbeen skimmed at some point and this has been ground off.

Really hope you can help

Tiff

1401544 casting number 14015445 would be 1975-1987 Truck, Light Duty.
Block casting numbers are found on the bellhousing/transmission mounting flange at the rear of the block on the driver's side.

11123FBK
2510
1762
GM15

Default Re: Help

Thanks for helping.. The FBK number was above the timing chain stamped into the block. The other long number was a casting number.

Do you know what the original horsepower was of this engine when it was constructed?

And do you knwo of any upgrade kits to take me up to 500BHP?
