1989 Chevy C1500. Question on the ventilation system:
The Air recirulation door (the one behind the blower motor where fresh air comes in) is always open to fresh air. It doesnt matter where the controls are set the door always opens and then closes when you turn the ignition off. Is this correct? It doesnt seem right to me. If this is not correct what is wrong with the system? note: all the air doors in by the heater core and ac core work correctly, Thanks
I'm not sure about your '89, but on all my vehicles the door only switches to re-circulation (in-car air) when mode is set to MAX A/C. All other modes use outside air.
