Default Impala SS smoking & burns oil. NEED HELP

Hello everyone I have a 2007 Impala SS 5.3L V8 that has about 160k I got a good deal on it so I bought it. I dont think the car was well taken care of.
The problem is it's burning oil crazy and it smokes the blueish grayish smoke. But this is the thing it does NOT smoke when you start it or if you let it idle...
These are the times it smokes:
- If you rev the engine past 3k RPM's
- Also for ex: when you're cruising 40mph and when the car goes to "4 CYLINDER MODE" but lets say not u press the gas just a lil harder to get to 50mph for ex and that's when there's a big cloud of smoke that comes out and stops after 2-3 seconds... SO pretty much most of the smoke comes out is when it activates the 8 CYL Mode
I did an oil change soon as I bought it and 3 days after it had no oil then I added oil and added Lucas on there as well and made no difference.
Now here's the crazy part. Instead of putting it on Drive (D) I tried it just driving it on (3) and car drives fine and no smoke comes out unless u punch it hard and you'll see a lil smoke here and there... but yea the car doesn't go to 4 cylinder mode so not much smoke at all.
Car does drive great and smooth tho.

Does have the Check Engine Light and ran the codes and here what came up.
1. Mass Air Flow sensor... Which after I cleaned it out the code went away.
2. P0449 Evap Emission Crrl sys Vent Valve Solenoid Error (which I don't think its the reason it smokes)

I hope It makes sense and really hope if I can get some advice
Thanks in Advance

Default

the evap code is on most likely from a shorted or open vent solenoid valve which is common.

try granprixforums.com as there is alot of information about the oil consumption there. the pontiac grand prix gxp shares the same platform as your car.
