Long start, stabiltrak, no tach, runs rough
2010 chevy camaro z28 6.2L auto 2G1FK1EJ4A9156327
Cammed, tuned, TC, headers, lots going on.
-Engine warms up, runs great, drives and shifts great, no issues.
-Upon full temp and shutting off, starting again within an hour causes crank sensor code, service stabiltrak, logn start, rough idle, makes around 13 horsepower...
-This was repeatable. Heat up, shut off and then it all goes to crap. Its not a limp mode as it sounds like the timing is very off and its barely able to keep the engine running (cannot pull onto a trailer or go up hills).
-New battery, grounds, maf, map, cam, crank sensors(tried to use hp tuners relearn, not sure if it properly completed since it made no effect), new plugs, new ignition coils.
-Rpm is not able to be read by HP tuners (computer not sending a tach signal), tach guage is dead when it happens.
-Engine temp 200, no higher. Transmission runs around 160-180, oil pressure good, fuel pressure shows good
-When this condition begins after heat soak, my wideband sensor shows that it is running much richer (around 13.8 average changing to 11.5 to 12.5)
-ECM pins look amazing, very very clean and new looking
-VVT solenoid not changed yet or ecm.
-Log of the exact event in the middle of running great to crapping out shows that the last known tach reading was 5,280 rpm 2 seconds after being put into park and the gas pedal was not being touched. That reading was captured over a fraction of a second and the car died. Upon startup, the rest of the symptoms occurred.
-Id be glad to share the log file for anyone that has vcm scanner (hp tuners scanner software)
Ran great and then one day this started. Now it will not start normal. I have seen a lot of people have the same issues on this motor. I have not seen the actual fix or detailed solutions. If I find one, I will absolutely report back here for everyone to view.
Were about to pull the wiring harnesses, check each wire, re-loom, check output voltages on all sensors and compare to wiring diagrams. If we cannot solve it, the car will be sold. We are not buying a new computer unless proven to be the issue. Thanks!

So the culprit here turned out to be the crank sensor. The guy who was working on it started with a new crank sensor. After the problem came back again and again, we all started replacing other parts and didnt look back at the crank sensor. Turned out to be just slightly unplugged and wasnt clicked in all the way. Problem is gone for good
I'm having a similar issue with my '22 Silverado, I was getting a long start, then I got a stabiltrak light pop up. Did you try resetting your traction control system by turning off the ignition, holding the ESC button and the traction control button for like 3 seconds?
