Default looking for info

i am working on a 1991 K1500 and i am told the engine is the oem. i was told and i did find a recept that the trany was changed about 100,000 miles ago. so now it is time for another trany. so i took it out and not all the bolts are the oem bolts they did have some of the stud bolts but not all of them. I whent to the dealer to see if i can get the correct bolts and they tell me the correct bolts by the vin is 10 mm with a 8mm stud. The ones i took out of the truck is 3/8 with a 8mm stud. sooo now the question is who is liying is this the correct engine or is the dealer wrong any info would be appreciated
