I'm working on a GM 502 which I think is a Gen 5 version as it does not have provisions for a mechanical fuel pump.
I thought all BBC engines after the MK IV would have roller cams. This motor has a hydraulic flat tappet cam????
It also has a sheet metal MK IV like front cam cover? Again I thought it would have a cast aluminum cover??
In the lifter valley, what are the three cast in block bosses with plugs in them??
Can I use a gen 6 cam in the engine?
The block casting# is; 14096859 Mortec says; Gen 5 502
Head casting# is;14097088
I need educated on GEN 5 BBC
Any help is appreciated.
