Silverado Check Engine

Silverado Check Engine
I have an 01 Silverado 1500, 4.3 V6 with 116,000 miles. For the past month I've had the check engine light come on when entering the freeway or whenever I depress the gas pedal when traveling at about 70mph. I've checked the code and the 3rd cylinder is misfiring. I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter and nothing has changed. I'm at the point of assuming that it is either the fuel pump or fuel injectors, however I am leaning towards the injectors. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar issues or know and understand the issue and how to fix it, thank you!

You didn't say, but did you change the distributor cap and rotor? The distributor cap is a likely trouble spot with 116,000 miles on it and it is cheaper than the injectors. it is worth a try.

Sorry, yes I replaced the distributor cap and rotor recently. I don't believe it's actually the engine itself because I never have an issue with it until I try and push it hard. That's why I've sort of backed away from doing a compression test. Another question I have is there a way to test the injectors to tell if any of them are bad? Obviously it would be nicer and a lot cheaper to only have to replace a single one instead of the whole spider. And I will definitely explore the coil pack idea. Thanks guys, much appreciated!
