Thanksgiving Day Starting Gremlin
Happy Turkey Day to all my Chevy Friends. Came home from work last night, bride says "black Suburban won't start".
"93 5.7 4x4 350k miles
Gave it a try, cranks over well but zero fire. Truck is on it's 3rd ICM since purchase in '95, always similar symptoms. When it failed in past, I can put fuel in throttle body to start but injectors don't fire. So, tried that this morning, fired up and died (as previous ICM failures have all done). Then, did it once more and crap, kept running, went for good hard test drive and running great! This ICM is 10+ yrs old and 100k + miles - what do you think about just changing it based on past experience? When it did not start, fuel pump ran fine at "key on". No other diagnostics run except adding fuel to throttle body.
Thanks, Red
BTW don't you love it when car fixes itself - because I know it's gunna get me sooner or later!
