Tow light not engageing?

Tow light not engageing?
Notice today on my 2002 Silverado, when I press the tow/overdrive button on my transmission colum, the tow light does not come on my dash or engages it.
Don't get me wrong, truck runs and shifts w/o any issues, just that this issue worries me.
Anyone know what it may be? I hope to find a simple fix. Thanks 4 any help / tips.
