2000 Impala cam position sensor issue
Got a code for the Camshaft Position Sensor, so I changed it out, and am STILL getting the same code. After changing it, it ran fine for 4-5 days before the check engine light came back on. Also, the check engine light has been going off on its own as well. It'll be on for a day, then go off for a couple hours. Weird.
Its been running fine, even with the light, but now its started dying after coming to a stop, then when you go to accelerate it will occassionally die. Only happens for the wife, I drove it for a while trying to see what it was doing, but nothing.
Did I maybe get a bad sensor? Ideas?

if you have the 3.8, the crankcase posistion sensors are known to fail. the symptoms you describe are that of a failing crankcase posistion sensor.

Thanks for the input! I'm guessing you meant the crankSHAFT position sensor. I'll give it a look, but I have the 3.4, and haven't had anything but the camshaft code come up. Though it does say there are two codes, but they're both for the cam position sensor, odd.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
