Default 2004 Chevy Impala not getting any spark?

Just finished putting a new head gasket on my brother's 2004 Impala. When we try to start it, we get the starter motor, and nothing else. We then find out that we aren't getting any spark. We know that the plug and wires are good, I drove the car into the garage a week ago. I'm fairly certain that the wiring is all correct. I have no idea what could be causing this problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
