Impala While undergoing many facelifts in its history, the Impala has proved itself to both civilians and police forces as one of the most capable 4-door cars GM has ever offered. Currently moving towards its 10th generation the Impala is one of the longest lasting and popular models.

Default 2005 Black Base Impala needs some custom work

I don't know if this thread is in the right place, but I have faith that a mod or admin could move this to the correct location if need be.
-------------------------
First a bit of background knowledge:

I'm 18. This is the first car I've actually bought myself. I like nice things, and want to do some work to this Impala to make it a bit more flashy.
-------------------------

The car I bought is a Black 2005 Chevy Impala, Base model.

Any and all suggestions are much appreciated, since my original plans were revoked.

Originally, I had been planning on getting some decorative chrome plating on the plastic/rubber strips along the sides and undercarriage of the car, as well as the front/back bumper strips.

(Shown above, signified in RED)

A few problems occurred:

The front/back bumper strips are actually part of the bumper plates, thus cannot be removed (as far as I know)

The body shop I've been consulting with is having trouble finding someone that actually does commercial custom decorative chrome plating. Does anyone here know a place? (Preferably in Michigan)

Another thought, which would make the chrome plating easier, is to get these strips/parts in steel rather than the plastic. I'm currently searching, but don't know their proper names, or how to find them in the manufacturer.

Least attractive option is taking them off, getting them painted, then reattached. I'm clueless as to what color for that, though.

The majority of the work I'll be having done is already figured out, like a lowering kit, some window tainting, Enkie AKP 18x7.5s, performance tires, and a decent system.

I suppose the point of this thread is, other than my technical problem, what options do I have in adjustments to a 2005 Base Impala? Ideas? Resources?

The chrome will make it look horrible and cheap. Are you wanting interior or exterior mods?

If not chrome, then what? I think the dull gray strips over black look horrid. At the very least I want them painted, for sure.

I'm looking for mods both interior and exterior.

Seriously, I'm just looking for any type of suggestion or advice at this point.

Paint them black.
You can change your window and door lock buttons to LED, change lighting in cluster, floormats, decals, quad headlights, quad taillights, under hood mods...I can go all day.

By ALL means, do. I figured if I painted them, that I'd paint them black. I like the two tone look, but I don't think it'd work REALLY well with anything other than Red/Silver/White, but none of those even click as well as I'd like.

What do you mean change the buttons to LED?

I don't know what you mean by changing lighting in cluster, either.

Decals I'll pass on, for I don't want to stray any further than luxurious.

A floor mat mod is a must. I'll agree with that.
I was also thinking about replacing the front seats, but I'm not sold on a company/style yet.

As far as under hood mods go, the only thing I was thinking about was a cold-air intake.

Under hood mods are the things I'm probably least knowledgeable about.

Anything to give me a bit of style or performance, I'm down with.
