Default Can my Impala handle 55w HID kit?

I have a 2006 Impala with aftermarket headlamp housings and a 35w HID kit in the low beams. I heard about how the 55w HID kits may burn the wiring harness in some cars, but which ones?

My question is, has anyone tried this? Or does anyone know for sure whether a 55w HID kit will cook the wiring harness in a 2006 Impala?
