Default HID Conversion on 2006 Impala SS

Just installed an HID conversion KIT in my 2006 Impala SS.

Also installed the Low voltage wiring harness to ensure that when the DRL's are on the HID's are lit (at full voltage of course).

I have a couple of problems that have been encountered:

1. The High beam unconverted lights will only come on if I pull the activation switch forward and you must hold it otherwise it spring returns. When the activation switch is pushed backwards to the full on position, the high beams will NOT come on, however the low beam HID's do stay on. Any suggestions as to why the High beams will not stay on in the full on position.
2. The exit lighting allows for the low beam lights to stay on after shutting the car off. This no longer works with the HID's.

i may be comparing apples and oranges. but i put hids in my 04 silverado and my hids stay on after the ignition shutoff for 30 seconds like you explained. maybe the low voltage wiring harness is the culprit. cuz the drls are low voltage of the high beams. when you turn on your high beams by pushing the lever towards the front of the car. does the high beam indicator show up on the dash?

Doesn't the lighting system on that year come with a delayed light circuit. Mine did.

For the second one, it's because the HID is taking up the powers, if you want you should get a relay.
