low engine oil level light
I just recently got a 2004 Impala,my low engine oil level light came on. I went to get the oil changed and the message is still displayed on the dash. the check enggine light came on shortly after. I got an OBD check and the code that came back was P0455. So I changed the gas cap hoping that was the problem. It wasn't. Could it be the sensor for the low engine oil level needs replaced? Could that cause the check engine light to come on? Any suggestions? I will have to get my plates and will probably need an E-Check before they will give them to me. Please help.
one time on my 2002 impala, I had an oil change done and they tried, as always, to get me to replace the air filter. I said no, and didn't think anything else about it... one the way home, when I hit 60 mph, the check engine light came on. Once at home, I lifted the hood and found that they had disconnected the sensor the plugs into the air intact line right near the air filter. Not sure if they did it on purpose or did it while removing the air filter. I plugged it back in, but the check engine light didn't go out until I got over 60 mph again.
with any luck, I hope that helps...
the change oil light can be reset by putting the key to the "on" position without starting the car. Hold the "disp" button on your radio for 5 seconds. A service mode will come up and by going thru the menus, your find the reset for the change oil light.
