'04 Malibu Maxx LT - 'Check RKE', then chaos!
Started vehicle like usual, Driver Info Center (DIC) said "Check RKE". Never saw that before. Next, all vehicle warning lights began flashing on and off, DIC was flashing on and off. Vehicle operated normally, drove off with warning lights & DIC flashing on and off. Tried turning vehicle off, and back on again, no difference. Began to drive again, used turn signal, which worked for a few seconds until a point in warning lights and DIC flashing cycle, and then it simply stopped working for a few seconds and then began to work again.
After about 15 minutes, all flashing stopped, and everything seemed normal, but Security warning light was on, and would not go out as normal. Arrived at destination, tried to lock and arm security system, vehicle locked up but no security light on dash.
Next day after using key fob to unlock vehicle, everything was back to normal.
This occurred one day after replacing spark plugs and transmission recommended maintenance for 100,000 miles. Never seen anything like it before.
Any ideas?

If the "check RKE" is shown on the DIC, could it possilby mean that the key fob has aweak battery? I can't explain why all the other wierd things are happening though...

The dealership that did the maintenance checked the Body Control Module error codes. Apparently their were many of them, and so they 'cleared' the BCM of the codes. I think the Key Fob battery was low, and I think that threw the BCM into a tizzy.
All seems fine now.
