I want to install an aftermarket audio receiver in my 05 Malibu Classic. I checked out Crutchfield who says only two receivers they sell will fit:

Dual XML8110 (DIN size)
Kenwood DPX308U (double DIN size)

According to Crutchfield, my choices are limited because the usable space behind the dash for a new head unit is only 6.275".

Is this true and/or does anyone have any experienced advice they can share? The Kenwood doesn't sound bad but is not yet available anywhere and I hate to be so limited in choice. I want a double DIN-size unit, without a DVD player, CD, AUX, USB, iPOD, maybe Bluetooth ready.
