OK, so I spend two days hunting around town with mechanics and have this issue. I need to get my care registered, and when i went to get that, it passed the examination because the third brake light appeared to not work. upon further examination, it works, but it is super low in energy. they traced the issue back to a low amount of energy coming from the body control module that controls that light. everything else checks out perfect, just some low voltage from that one part that takes the energy to that one light. had everything looked at, and double checked so no corrosion, everything is tight. I would like to find a solution that does not involve getting a whole new body control module, as according to what i have heard, i can only get that installed at a dealership, because they have too download the information from the old one, which only they can do or something. the cost for installation and the part is apparently 500 dollars.
