Ive searched all over and just cant find a clear answer, there is no little hole for a pin and thinking about trying covering the notches with a thin cover if I cant find a specific answer.

Welcome to the forum. I keep reading your post but coming up with blank. What's this "pin" you speak of? One of the headrest guides (that the headrest posts insert into) should have a button you have to depress while pulling up the headrest.

It was just mentioned as a small hole you put a pin in to release it... and there is a button to allow the head rest to move up and down but not come out

There should be another flush button around the other post. Try squeezing the top of the headrest guide (plastic part on top of the seat back) and you'll know what I mean.
